Blender 2.8 is a powerful and FREE 3D software, used for anything from 3D modeling and rendering, to sculpting and animating. So many people nowadays are super interested in 3D modeling, and don’t know where exactly to start, or even which software to use. This course solves all of that in under five hours.

Master the Essentials of 3D Modeling and Navigation Inside Blender

  • Build your understanding of the Blender Interface, and where exactly to find all of the essential tools.

  • Learn how to create simple 3D models efficiently, and even give them beautiful materials! (We’ll create a cool little “low-poly” island!)

  • Understand modeling theory, including polygons, mesh optimization, and topology.

  • Master Blender’s Interface, and turn a daunting-looking interface into something more familiar and easy to work with.

Overview

We’ll start the course right off by installing Blender. Although I don’t believe “hand-holding” is the best learning strategy long-term, I do believe it has enormous benefits when starting off complete beginners. Step-by-step, you’ll learn how to install Blender, navigate the interface, and work within Blender’s viewport. You won’t miss a thing!

Blender was first started in 1998, and in 2002 the Blender Foundation was founded as a nonprofit organization intended to promote open-source contributions to the software by the community. Jump to the current year (2019 as of this writing) and Blender has an extremely strong community and development team, beautiful interface, and an edge over industry-standard 3D software. Big-name companies such as Ubisoft, and even Epic Games, creator of Fortnite, have hopped on board the Blender train. Best of all? Blender is completely free.

Blender is no longer looked down upon as a lesser software, so mastering it can get you all sorts of jobs, ranging from rigging and animating to texturing and 3D modeling. This is the perfect software (and I also think the easiest) to learn these skills. This course is aimed at introducing your to Blender is a unique and approachable manner, and is intended for complete beginners.

What will I learn?

Since this is a beginner-oriented course, you’ll learn most of the basics but nothing too in-depth. This course is meant to prepare you for deepening your knowledge afterwards, kind of like learning Algebra prepares you for the world of Calculus. Here’s a brief list of the main focuses of this course:

  • 3D Modeling

  • Navigating the Interface

  • Object/Edit Mode

  • Rendering

  • Modifiers

  • Particle Systems

  • Materials/Textures

  • Modeling Theory

If you can become proficient at these topics, you’ll be an amazing 3D artist.

I designed this course to be easily approachable, and understood by even absolute beginners. After completing the course, you’ll receive a verifiable certificate of completion. Join me today on your journey into the world of 3D inside Blender!
